- In January 1963, the bassist and composer Charles Mingus recorded a very personal and socially conscious work that he called "The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady". Every composition, from the opener "Solo Dancer" to the final "Group And Solo Dance", was a musical expression of Mingus' philosophy related to life, love and his environment. This recording is so personal that it made him love his friend the clinical psychologist Dr. Pollack, asked to discuss them.
