- In 1964 Bob Dylan released his third studio album, on which he recorded exclusively his own compositions for the first time. "The Times They Are A-Changin'" was to cement his reputation as a protest singer for good. The bard exchanged the humour, sarcasm and looseness of the predecessor "The Freewheelin'" for seriousness and weight of content. The title song united social movements and generations. It became a hymn in the resistance against racism, poverty, injustice and in the commitment to change.
